Flashspoter - Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios President, made the announcement of the iirectors for two Avengers movies "Doomsday" and "Secret Wars" at San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) on Saturday, July 27 local time. The directors are Joe and Anthony Russo, also known as the Russo Brothers.
Looking back at the previous four movies, which were in her words "crazy and heartbreaking," Anthony Russo, in his statement, shared the excitement of going forward with everyone into the future.
The Russo Brothers have already been deeply involved with the Marvel empire as they have been responsible for the directing Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movies. They kicked off their engagement with one of the MCU chapters with" Captain America: The Winter Soldier "in 2014, then added another feather in their cap with "Captain America: Civil War" in 2016.The pair then led the Avengers movies for the last two chapters, "Infinity War" in 2018 and "Endgame" in 2019.
Presently, the responsibility of handling "Avengers 5" and "6" is given to Joe and Anthony Russo. It is anticipated that "Avengers: Doomsday" will have its premiere in May 2026 with "Avengers: Secret Wars" coming next in May 2027.
During Marvel Studios' presentation at SDCC, it was revealed that the previously announced title of the film, "The Kang Dynasty", had been changed. Previously focusing on Kang, the main villain played by Jonathan Majors, the studio terminated his contract with Majors due to allegations of violence and harassment against his former partner. The story will now take a new direction with the introduction of a new villain, Doctor Doom, and the reintroduction of Robert Downey Jr., this time portraying villain characters with different personalities.
Furthermore,"Secret Wars" is a comic series from Marvel Comics which was originally published in 1984 to 1985. The title later became a new arc for the comic released in 2015.
Besides that, the four heroes from Marvel Studios liquidated the rumor of their collaboration with the Avengers in the fight of the 5th and 6th part. The four will be represented by Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.
