Flashspoter - Alibaba‍‌‍‍‌ has officially introduced Quark AI Glasses to the Chinese market, which is a new move by the company in extending its range of consumer AI devices. There are mainly two lines for this product, i.e., the S1 as the flagship model and the G1 as a lighter version with a lower price. The introduction of such a device indicates that the Chinese tech giant is willing to become more and more entrenched in the wearables market which is getting more and more competitive due to the numerous AI-powered smart glasses from different global ‍‌‍‍‌brands.

Quark AI Glasses are introduced in several design and color options, complete with different lens options that can be customized. The entire model is integrated with Alibaba's artificial intelligence model, Qwen, as well as the newly launched Qwen App application. With‍‌‍‍‌ this integration, users can give voice commands or use touch controls to interact with the AI assistant, thus having a mixed experience of live visibility and multimodal AI assistance.

With the price beginning at ¥3,799, the S1 Model is presented as a premium product. To offer a vibrant and sharp display, these glasses employ two micro-OLED panels, and to maintain the performance, the device is powered by two ‍‌‍‍‌chipsets. Bone conduction-based voice pickup technology is one of the important features that allows voice interaction without interference from ambient noise. In addition, the battery system uses a swappable dual-battery concept that is claimed to provide power for up to 24 hours, making it one of the main attractions compared to competitors.

S1 also prioritizes imaging capabilities. Based on official data, the device is capable of capturing instant photos within 0.6 seconds, recording 3K video, up to 4K output enhanced through AI processing. Quark's Super Raw technology keeps photos at their best in a variety of light conditions, including night shots.

On‍‌‍‍‌ the other hand, the G1 is a lighter daily type of gadget concept with a mere 40 grams weight. The cost is from ¥1,899 and it carries almost all the essential features of the S1 like high-quality audio, a built-in camera, and multimodal AI ‍‌‍‍‌capabilities. The main difference is the absence of a display screen, making the G1 more like conventional glasses but still functioning as an AI device capable of helping daily activities.

Alibaba integrates these glasses with a number of services in its ecosystem, including Alipay, Amap, Taobao, and Fliggy. Support for music platforms such as QQ Music and NetEase Cloud Music is also included. That way, users can perform various activities such as navigation, checking product prices on Taobao through visual recognition, quick translation, automatic meeting note creation, to context-based reminders.

The device also supports the standard MCP protocol, so third-party developers can build additional applications. Alibaba hopes the support helps shape a broader application ecosystem around its Quark AI Glasses platform.

The launch comes amid growing market interest in smart wearables. Worldwide‍‌‍‍‌ shipments of wearable devices in the second quarter of 2025 were 136.5 million units, representing a year-on-year growth of 9.6%, as per IDC's report. With almost 50 million units, China is still the biggest market, which is mainly attributable to the energizing of local brands and the increasing demand for new form factor like AI ‍‌‍‍‌glasses.

Some industry reports suggest that AI glasses will become a rapidly growing category of consumer devices in the next few years. Research firm Omdia predicts shipments of AI-based eyewear devices will surpass 10 million units by 2026, double that of 2025. The movement of various large companies such as Meta, Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi, to a number of startups also strengthens the dynamics of the market.

Quark AI Glasses are already available on a number of major e-commerce platforms in China, including Tmall, JD.com and Douyin. In addition, the device also went on sale in more than 600 partner optical stores in 82 cities across China. The international Model is said to be coming in the coming year, although there is no confirmation of the release region yet.

The launch highlights Alibaba's strategy to strengthen its position in the consumer AI market. With the integration of the Qwen model across multiple services and devices, the company appears to be working to create a unified ecosystem that brings AI experiences closer to users ' daily lives.
