Ayaneo Next II Emerges as a Powerful Next-Gen Windows Gaming Handheld

Flashspoter - Ayaneo reaffirms its reputation as a manufacturer of ambitious design gaming handhelds with the introduction of Ayaneo Next II, a portable Windows device that looks to target the most premium class. While‍‌‍‍‌ some challengers in the market are working on providing a more compact or less expensive gadget, Ayaneo decided to go the other way by debuting a big, powerful handheld that has features right for a user who wants ultimate power.

Next II comes with a 9.06-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2,400 x 1,504 and the refresh rate up to 165 ‍‌‍‍‌Hz. This Panel comes in a native landscape orientation with a ratio close to 3:2, giving more visual space for modern PC games. Ayaneo claims the panel is a custom design, although the current handheld market is growing fast enough that it is likely that similar panels will appear in the next generation of devices.

For performance matters, Ayaneo places the AMD Ryzen AI Max + 395 APU which is one of the most powerful mobile chips in its class. This Chip is combined with an integrated GPU Radeon 8060S designed to handle modern AAA games in handheld format. Without the need to rely on external graphics solutions, users are designed to get stable performance at the native resolution of the device screen.

One aspect that immediately steals the show is the battery capacity. Ayaneo mentions that the Next II carries an 115 Wh battery, a figure well above the average of today's gaming handhelds. This capacity makes it different from some competitors who have to sacrifice batteries in favor of installing heavyweight chips like the Strix Halo. However,‍‌‍‍‌ Ayaneo has not come up with a longevity estimate. From the performance of the chip and the high refresh rate, one would expect that the playtime will not last for an entire day, but it should be probably a bit more than a device with similar performance.

Quality control is something that the company puts a lot of effort into as ‍‌‍‍‌well. Joysticks and triggers use the Hall effect to minimize the risk of drift and deadzone. In addition, the Next II adopts two trackpad-style smart touchpads that can be programmed with gestures and key mapping. Four additional buttons on the back as well as four extra customization buttons give wider control options for users who are used to playing PC games with a lot of input.

Additional information from the internal presentation suggests that the Ayaneo Next II has a large cooling system with two fans, as well as four m-slots.2 SSD-a very rare number found on portable handhelds. The presence of these four slots brings significant storage expansion flexibility, although of course it will have an effect on power consumption and internal space. The‍‌‍‍‌ methods by which Ayaneo maintains performance, temperature, and portability are still the main points of interest for the final product.

With a launch event planned for November 28, 2025, at 23:30 PT, Ayaneo is expected to unveil details such as full specs, RAM configuration, storage options, and final design. Pricing has remained a mystery so far, but given the device's status as a flagship, it is thought that the price could be close to or even higher than that of the Ayaneo Kun, the highest version of which is around USD 1,700. It‍‌‍‍‌ would be only natural that the Next II is going to be the first one to surpass the USD 2,000 mark for the full ‍‌‍‍‌configuration.

With its large size, massive battery, high-end AI Max chip, and control and storage features that surpass current handheld standards, the Ayaneo Next II appears to be aimed at the enthusiast segment that wants an uncompromising portable PC gaming experience. The premium handheld market is now increasingly competitive, and this device is becoming one of the most ambitious examples of the direction in which the category is developing.
