Google Sets $40 Billion Investment to Expand Its Texas Data Center Network

The company has unveiled plans to pour $40 billion into building three additional data centers in Texas by 2027. The project includes one facility in Armstrong County, located in the Texas Panhandle, plus two more in Haskell County—a largely overlooked part of West Texas that has rarely seen major tech investment. Meta releases Content Protection feature for Reel creators audience

The parent company of Facebook and Instagram is rolling out more accessible tools to help monitor and address content theft, with a particular focus on Reels—the short-video format most commonly affected. Previously, creators could rely on Rights Manager, a dedicated copyright platform, but it was complex and limited to a smaller group of professional users. Now, Meta is introducing Content Protection directly within the Facebook app, hoping to make the feature available to a much broader audience—especially those who regularly post Reels. On a technical level, Content Protection works by automatically scanning a creator’s original video.
