Deadpool and Wolverine break Box Office records in North America

  Flashspoter - The latest Marvel Cinematic Universe film, Deadpool & Wolverine, has achieved the highest opening weekend box office of all time for an R-rated movie. According to a Variety report on Sunday (July 28), the film grossed $205 million in North America during its debut weekend. This impressive feat surpasses the previous record set by Deadpool (2016) with $132 million, pushing Deadpool 2 (2018) to third place with $125 million. Deadpool & Wolverine also overtook Inside Out 2, making it the largest opening weekend of 2024 so far. The film's performance ranks as the eighth-best debut in box office history, ahead of Black Panther (2018) and just behind Jurassic World (2015) and The Avengers (2012). The announcement was a standout moment during Marvel’s Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con 2024 on Saturday, July 27.
