Flashspoter - Dave the Diver is finally available on the Xbox platform, adding to the long list of consoles that can play the popular adventure and management game. After debuting on PC in 2023 and following the release on Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PS4, and PS5 throughout 2024 and 2025, now Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S players can also dive into the Blue Hole. This Xbox version comes complete with all the additional content that has been released before.
Since it was first launched, mintrocket developers have continued to expand the gaming experience through a number of event-based and collaboration expansions. Some of them include Dredge-themed content, crossovers with Godzilla, to the appearance of Ichiban Kasuga's character from the Like a Dragon series. In addition, sales of this game have broken through six million copies, marking a great success for a title that was initially considered experimental.
Mintrocket not only showcased the latest trailer but also announced the delay of the major expansion In The Jungle for early 2026 alongside the launch of the Xbox version. This DLC was initially planned to be released at the end of 2025 but had to be postponed. Through the new trailer, the studio provides a glimpse of the New Forest area, additional freshwater fish, as well as advanced story elements. This DLC will also be bundled in physical editions for PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2 that are planned to launch next year.
In addition to expanding Dave's world, the Xbox trailer also brings a meta twist as Dave is depicted playing his own game through a ROG Xbox Ally X portable device. This element is an interesting visual addition to commemorate the new release, although technically players can already play this game portably through other platforms before.
For players who haven't tried Dave the Diver, the game offers a game loop that mixes underwater exploration and Restaurant Simulation. During the day, players control Dave to dive for fish with a variety of weapons and diving equipment that can be upgraded. The higher the risk, the deeper the dive, and consequently, the value of the catch is also higher. During the evening, the player changes the focus to the management of the sushi restaurant, a task that involves everything from making the menu to rapidly serving customers.
Moreover, the game has a lot of side missions, mini-games, and genre surprises, which keep the gameplay fluid. The game modules are designed to be very straightforward as you go from fighting sea creatures to interacting with underwater civilizations without too much explanation. Mintrocket emphasizes that basic mechanics such as oxygen management and fish value are built on the player's natural understanding, so that progress can flow without significant obstacles.
The Studio also highlighted the role of humor as the game's main identity. Characters such as Bancho the strict chef, Cobra the arms dealer, and Duff the eccentric otaku became an important part of Dave the Diver's appeal. Exaggerated pixel art-style cutscenes help the game to have a somewhat comic vibe, by which the players can see some funny moments, though these are greatly unexpected, in the middle of the journey.
With the launch of the Xbox version, Dave the Diver is now available on nearly all major gaming platforms, thus, its player base has been broadened to those gamers who did not get a chance to try it. A PS5 and Switch 2 user will get a full-fledged pack with the newest DLC when the physical version, intended for next year, comes out. On the other hand, this release is a source of joy for an Xbox user to be able to catch up with one of the most loved 2023 games in its entirety and with the latest updates.
